Iceland is like being on another planet with its otherworldly landscapes featuring volcanoes, glaciers, geysers, waterfalls, and the mesmerizing Northern Lights!  We visit the beautiful sights of the island from west to east including the Golden Circle and the southern coast. Along the route we discover the dramatic Icelandic landscapes from the comfort of a spacious 4×4 Super Truck. Our Iceland tour is all-inclusive. You just need to fly to Iceland and we take care of the accommodations, meals, guiding, transportation and fees. Currently, IcelandAir has direct non-stop flights from Detroit starting at $440 roundtrip.

Some highlights of our tour include:

  • Thingvellir National Park – Start your morning by standing between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates where they meet. One foot on each continent!
  • Reykjavík – Iceland‘s vibrant capital, known for its colorful buildings, rich cultural & food scene, and the iconic Hallgrímskirkja church.
  • Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach – a dramatic black sand beach with rock towers and powerful waves.
  • Gullfoss – one of the most powerful waterfalls in Europe, over several multi-step tiers.
  • Strokkur Geyser – a highly active geothermal area that erupts every few minutes, shooting boiling water up to 65 feet into the air.
  • Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon – Here you will see huge icebergs floating out to the Atlantic Ocean and maybe some wildlife including seals and dolphins.
  • Skógafoss – one of Iceland‘s largest and most powerful waterfalls, known for its impressive spray and vibrant rainbows.
  • Kerid Crater – volcanic crater lake with vivid blue waters set amidst red volcanic rock formed at least 3,000 years ago.
  • Vatnajökulsþjóðgarður (aka Vatnajökull National Park) – Europe’s largest national park, offers vast ice caps, volcanic landscapes and the glacier of the same name. We will tour an ice cave and possibly see icebergs by boat.
  • Diamond Beach – a beach where sparkling icebergs wash ashore and glisten like diamonds against the black sand.
  • Vik – a picturesque coastal village nestled beneath dramatic cliffs, known for stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and a good craft brewery.
  • Skaftafell & Svartifoss – aka “Black Falls,” a striking waterfall renowned for its unique backdrop of dark hexagonal basalt columns that resemble a black organ pipe… and the Skaftafellsjökull glacier next door.
  • Dyrhólaey Lighthouse – stunning panoramic views of the rugged coastline, black sand beaches, and striking rock formations including the famous arch-shaped cliff.
  • LAVA Centre or Lava Show – Largest interactive, high-tech exhibition in Europe depicting volcanic activity, earthquakes and the creation of Iceland over millions of years. See what happens when lava meets ice.
  • Seljalandsfoss – a tall waterfall with a path that allows visitors to walk behind the cascading water.
  • Selfoss – a pedestrian-friendly college town with a trendy food hall.
  • plus Icelandic horses, reindeer, sheep and so much more! I am going back to Iceland for yet another visit this October to scout more locations and create the perfect itinerary for you.
