New Orleans is considered one of the most haunted cities in the world with its centuries-old cemeteries, ghost stories, and voodoo legends. From haunted house tours to costume balls to themed pub crawls, a NOLA Halloween is not just a one-night affair… it’s a month-long celebration filled with parades, parties, and events. This has made New Orleans a Top 5 place to visit for Halloween on Earth.
Always wanted to go to NOLA? Spike has put together the perfect tour to come party with him! He’s looking for some weirdos to join him in New Orleans: zombies, vampires, ghosts, goblins and pirates… fun people only. (No “Karens” unless your name is Karen.)  There will be adult-only tours. Loud bars. Live music. Great food. The weekend we are planning in New Orleans promises an unforgettable experience filled with history, culture, music, food, parties and spooky fun that you won’t find anywhere else… all packed into one weekend.
An itinerary will be announced later, but here’s a few highlights:
  • Stay in a beautifully restored historic 18th century boutique hotel with a private lush tropical courtyard in the center of the French Quarter.
  • A private walking ghost tour (that also stops at a few bars!) to see our favorite haunted spots full of witchcraft, voodoo, and ghost stories.
  • An intriguing journey through New Orleans’ most famous cemetery. Hear the storied pasts of those residing in this magnificent City of the Dead. Photography along the way is encouraged.
  • The soulful sounds of live jazz and blues in the city’s renowned music venues: We visit during the NOLAxNOLA Music Festival with dozens of concerts each night in the city.
  • A famous beignet and café au lait at the iconic Café du Monde, plus more of the specialty dishes that make New Orleans food scene so good.
  • Explore the French Quarter, the Garden District, Bourbon Street, Frenchmen Street and some other spooky parts of the city. Some events will be organized group tours but you’ll also have free time to discover New Orleans on your own and plenty of time to eat, drink, shop and play!
  • Other sites that may be included: Jackson Square and St. Louis Cathedral, the buzzing stalls of the French Market, shopping on Royal Street, indulging in classic Creole dishes. A historic streetcar and journey down St. Charles Avenue, lined with majestic oak trees and historic mansions. And you may even learn a magic spell from a voodoo queen!

October is arguably the best weather in New Orleans: the average temperatures fall between 70° and 80° with low humidity and the lowest rainfall of the year!

Please note: this is not your grandmother’s hop-on/hop-off sightseeing tour. This is a high-spirited weekend of taking in New Orleans sights and sounds on foot: you should be reasonably fit to walk the neighborhoods and handle your own bags.

Tour Highlights
  • Bourbon StreetThe ever-bustling party street features some of the French Quarter's main attractions including some vintage bars, voodoo and occult shops and plenty of live jazz. Our hotel is just off the strip so we can enjoy the excessive partying without suffering from its noise!
  • The Cemetery TourHere, the dead outnumber the living at least ten to one. The famous St. Louis cemeteries and others are known as "the cities of the dead," many of these famous graveyards were established in the late 1700s and contain thousands of elaborate tombs. It has been written that these cemeteries have so many angels that one can “hear the beat of their wings” while walking through. So many ghost stories here with famous residents including the voodoo priestess Marie Laveau.
  • Live MusicExperience the soulful rhythms and performances of the legendary Frenchmen neighborhood to street performers in Jackson Square. You'll see incredible jazz, blues, funk and bounce. We timed our visit in the middle of the NOLAxNOLA Music Festival, featuring over 300 shows in 48 venues, both indoor and outdoor (many free!) located all over the city, and span from the dives and breweries to music halls, jazz clubs and iconic venues like Preservation Hall and Tipitina’s.
  • Food & Drink CultureNOLA and Louisiana specialties include Po'boys, beignets, gumbo, jambalaya, crawfish boils and muffalettas. And this "cradle of civilized drinking" is the birthplace of many famous cocktails plus a few on Bourbon Street that will knock you off your feet.
  • ShoppingMagazine Street in the Garden District and Royal Street in the French Quarter are two of the most beautiful streets in Louisiana with hundreds of locall-owned boutique shops, art galleries, antiques, vintage clothing and restaurants.
